Asep Topan (Majalengka, 1989) is an art curator and writer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He holds an MFA in Curating from Bandung Institute of Technology. He formerly participated in the de Appel Curatorial Programme, Amsterdam (2015-16). His practice as a curator focuses on contemporary art, and constantly challenges the form of exhibition, for whom it speaks, and how it is presented to public. He has collectively and individually initiated numerous exhibitions, public programmes and long-term projects. Asep worked for Jakarta Biennale Foundation as the vice-director (2016-2018), and currently working as a lecturer at the Jakarta Institute of Arts since 2012 on History of Indonesian Art and Art Activism subjects.
